Sue attended a sign writing pre-employment course at Whiteria Polytech, and in 1993 she got a job with Gary Davis Signs in Paraparaumu as an apprentice.
As such, Sue learned to be a sign writer the traditional way. Very little computer , and lots of brush work.
In 1993 Sue met Rob Pollock when the business became Davis and Pollock Signs. During that time Sue cut her teeth on the Nissan Mobil street races as part of the Polytech Crash tech team (the first female to invited). With Davis and Pollock Sue was heavily involved in three New Zealand Golf Opens, the New Zealand Women's Golf Open, Te Papa construction, and being part of the beginning of so many businesses on the Kapiti Coast. She has been very fortunate to work with Kapiti's only award winning signwriter Rob Pollock, and has learnt a huge amount from him
Sue has been in the sign writing business for 21 years, latterly with Signcraft Kapiti, which she help to establish with Rob Pollock. in 2014, Sue opened her own business, one of a few female owned sign writing businesses in New Zealand, after Rob retired from the industry.
A mark of Sue's professionalism is demonstrated by people she met as an apprentice, still doing business with her today.
